The Call Guy

Emails we send you

The emails The Call Guy sends, who gets each one, which you can switch off in Notifications, and how to reach a person.

The Call Guy sends a few kinds of email: the ones you ask for, such as a password reset; alerts you choose; and notes about your campaigns and your invoices. This page says who gets each one and how to stop the ones you can.

The emails, and who gets them

Alert emails: a customer texts back, a callback goes unanswered, a new leadEach person who chooses Email for that alertYes, in Notifications
The morning summary of yesterdayEach person who turns it onYes, in Notifications
"Your campaign is going out", then the results once every contact has a final resultThe account's own email, or a store's in a dealer groupNo
Invoices from QuickBooks, and reminders for an unpaid campaign line invoiceThe account's own email, or the store's in a dealer groupNo

The account's own email is the account owner's sign-in email. In a dealer group, a store added from the dashboard has no email of its own: its mail goes to its Store email, or to the group's owner until it has one. See Add another store.

Choose your alert emails

  1. Select your initials at the top right of the dashboard.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Select an alert, and turn Email on or off. Each change saves as you make it.

What you see

each alert shows how it reaches you now, as Email, Text, Bell or Off.

Each person chooses their own alerts, store by store in a dealer group. See Alerts and the daily summary.

Stop an email

  • Alert emails and the morning summary: switch Email off for that alert in Notifications. These emails carry no unsubscribe link.

  • Sign-in emails, such as a password reset link: there is no switch. They go out only when you ask for one.

  • Campaign and invoice emails: they go to the account's own email and have no switch.

Write back to a person

Most of our emails end with "Questions? Reply to this email — a human reads every one." Emails about your sign-in can't take a reply, so they name contact@thecallguy.ca instead.

Good to know

  • Our support team, when in your workspace, gets none of your alerts. See When our support team is in your workspace.

  • A teammate starts with no alert emails. The account owner starts with emails for a customer's text reply and an unanswered callback, unless those were switched off in the campaign line's own settings.
