Across Canada
The Call Guy serves Canadian businesses and delivers to Canadian numbers only. Numbers outside Canada and toll-free numbers are set aside and never sent.
The Call Guy serves businesses in Canada and delivers voicemail campaigns to Canadian numbers. A number outside Canada on your list is set aside when you upload it and never sent, unless our team has set your account up to deliver elsewhere.
Your business
At sign-up, Province or territory is required. It lists the thirteen provinces and territories, then Outside Canada.
Your country is what you declare at sign-up. It is never guessed from your phone number.
An account registered outside Canada cannot buy credits or build campaigns. The builder shows Campaigns open when we open up where you are, with this message: "The Call Guy currently serves businesses in Canada. This account is registered outside Canada, so campaigns and credits aren't available yet — email contact@thecallguy.ca and we'll let you know the moment we open up where you are."
If your business is outside Canada
Choosing Outside Canada at sign-up creates no account. It puts you on a list to hear when we open up.
On the sign-up page, choose Outside Canada under Province or territory.
Fill in Where is your business?, then tick the contact box.
Select Join the list.
What you see
"You're on the list." Nothing else happens until we open up where you are: no account, nothing owed.
Your list
Each number is judged by its area code when you upload the list.
In the builder, upload your list on Audience.
On Review, select the Set aside pill to see the rows that will not be called.
What you see
each row set aside says why. A number from another country reads Outside Canada. A toll-free number reads Toll-free number: it is a business line, not a person.
Rows set aside are not contacts. They cost nothing and are never produced.
Download the set-aside rows saves them as a CSV file, with a column that says why each one was set aside.
The server checks again before anything is sent. A number outside Canada that reaches a campaign is closed with "Not sent — not a Canadian recipient number." No credit is used.
The numbers your contacts see and call
The number your contacts see must be a Canadian line.
The phone a callback rings must be a Canadian number.
A campaign line is a Canadian local number.
Good to know
We say "across Canada", because that is where we deliver.
A number is judged by the number itself. A name or an address in the row never changes it.
