Get a number
Choose your campaign line's number by area code, city or province, confirm it, add more numbers to the line, move a number to another store of your dealer group, and release a number you no longer need.
Your campaign line needs a number before it can show on your voicemails, send follow-up texts or ring your phone. You choose it from the numbers available right now, and you can add more numbers to the same line later.
Before you start
The workspace owner chooses the number. For a store in a dealer group, the group's owner can too. Anyone else sees Your workspace owner can choose the number.
The owner's email address must be confirmed. See Confirm your email.
Each number is $10 a month, on a monthly invoice. How that invoice works: Paying for your campaign line.
Choose your first number
Open Campaign line in the sidebar.
On the No number yet card, select Get a number.
In Area code or city, type an area code or a city. To look across a province instead, choose it in Or a province.
What you see
Choose your number, with the numbers you can choose, each with the place it belongs to. When the area code you typed has none today, the page says so and shows other numbers from the same province.
Select a number. When the list holds more than it shows, a Show button under it names how many more. Refresh the list checks for new numbers.
Select Next.
What you see
Confirm, with five rows: Number, Where, Price ($10 a month), First invoice (emailed today, due in 14 days) and Release (Any time).
Select the button that names the number: Get followed by the number.
What you see
Setting up your number…, then You're all set. The card shows the number as a Canadian local number and a Send callbacks to row with Change or Set up. Two buttons close it: Back to your line and Start a campaign.
Next, choose where callbacks ring: Callback numbers and where calls ring. Then add your sender details so the line can send follow-up texts: Sender details.
During the first setup, the Get your campaign line step offers the same choice when your account has no number yet.
When your email is not confirmed
The Confirm step says Confirm your email to claim a number.
Open the link in the email we sent you when you signed up. If you need it again, select Resend the email on the notice.
Come back to the page and select I've confirmed my email.
Select Get followed by the number.
Add another number
Open Campaign line in the sidebar.
Select Add a number. It sits at the top of the page and as the last row of the numbers table.
Choose and confirm the number as above. The last button reads Add followed by the number.
A line holds up to 5 numbers. The Add a number row says how many you have.
Each number is $10 a month, on its own monthly invoice.
While one of your numbers has an invoice open or past due, a new number waits until that invoice is paid. The page names the number whose invoice to pay first. A free number never waits.
A campaign whose voicemails show one of your line's numbers sends its follow-up texts from that same number.
Release a number
Open Campaign line in the sidebar.
On the number's row, select the More button (three dots).
Select Release this number.
Read the window. The number's follow-up texts stop the moment it is released, and callbacks to it no longer reach you. The month already started stays payable.
Type the number in Type the number to confirm.
Select Release the number. To change your mind, select Keep the number.
What you see
a sentence that the number was released, and what became of its open invoice: voided, with nothing to pay, or still payable. Choose a new number follows it.
There is no undo. A released number cannot be brought back.
If you release your last number, the line pauses: callbacks hear a short message and texts wait until you choose a new number.
Move a number to another store
In a dealer group, the group's owner can move a number from one store's line to another store's.
Open Campaign line in the sidebar, on the store that has the number now.
On the number's row, select the More button (three dots).
Select Move to another store.
Under Move it to, choose the store. Each store says whether the number joins its line or starts one.
Select Move the number. To change your mind, select Keep it here.
What you see
a sentence that the number now belongs to the store you chose, and that its calls and texts go there from now on. The number leaves this store's table.
The number keeps its digits and its price. A free number stays free, and its next monthly invoice goes to the store it serves now.
From the move on, calls and texts to it reach the new store and ring that store's callback settings, replies to the old store's past campaigns included. Past calls and texts stay with the old store.
You can move it again later.
A number can't move while its invoice is open, while a campaign still shows it, or while a call to it is ringing. The window says which, and what to do.
Numbers move only between the Canadian stores of one group. The store it moves to must have confirmed its email, and its line can't already hold the most numbers a store can have.
Good to know
If our team gave your account a free number, the list says "Your first number is on us", each number reads Free, and the number you choose has no invoice. After that, numbers are priced as usual.
The list is the live inventory of local numbers. Nothing is held for you, so a number you saw a minute ago may be gone when you confirm. Choose another. See The number I picked is gone.
Every number on the list is a Canadian local number, at the same monthly price.
If the builder says The campaign line isn't on for this workspace yet., write to the team behind The Call Guy at contact@thecallguy.ca.
