Voice cloning rules
Clone only your own voice, or one whose owner gave you explicit written permission. What you confirm when you record, how a teammate gives consent, and what we remove.
A campaign can speak in your voice or your team's, cloned in the dashboard, or in a house voice. Cloned voices are the heart of the product, so the rule is strict.
The rule
Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has given you explicit written permission.
Impersonating a real person without permission is prohibited.
We may refuse to create, or may delete, any voice profile we reasonably believe breaks this rule, including clones of public figures.
What you confirm when you record a voice
Open Voice library and select Add a voice.
Fill in Whose voice is this?
Tick the box: "This is my own voice, or I have this person's permission to clone it."
Read the script shown to you.
What you see
the box is never ticked for you. Without it, the studio says "Please confirm you have permission to clone this voice." and records nothing. The server refuses a clone sent without it too.
Your confirmation is stored with the voice.
When a teammate records their own voice
A teammate's voice is recorded by the teammate, from the private link you send with Invite a teammate. Their consent is theirs to give:
The first two lines of the script they read are their consent, spoken: "Hi, this is me — I'm recording my voice for our voicemail campaigns with The Call Guy, and I'm happy for it to be cloned for that." The recording is the record.
They tick a box that says it is their own voice, that they consent to your business cloning it for its voicemail campaigns through The Call Guy, and that it can be removed from your library at any time.
Your voices stay yours
A voice you clone is used only for your account's campaigns. Voices are never shared between clients.
You keep the rights to your recordings and voice profiles. We use them only to produce your takes, deliver your campaigns and report the results.
The account owner or an Admin can remove a voice: open its menu in Voice library and select Remove voice. Removing one deletes it from our voice engine and frees the slot. See Remove a voice.
The house voices are never deleted, so a campaign made in one keeps working.
