The Call Guy

Privacy

What The Call Guy keeps about you and your contacts, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to see, correct or delete it.

We keep what we need to run your campaigns, and nothing is sold. This page sums up the privacy policy at thecallguy.ca/privacy and the parts of the dashboard that act on it. The policy is the full text.

What we keep about you

  • Your account. What you type in when you sign up, book an intro or write to us: your name, business name, email, phone number, industry and your messages. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. We never see or keep the password itself.

  • Your campaigns. Each contact list you upload, your scripts, your schedules and your sign-off.

  • Your voices. The recording you make to clone a voice, and the voice profile built from it.

  • Your campaign line. The texts sent from it and the replies to it, the calls forwarded to you (who called, when, and whether it was answered), and your opted-out numbers.

  • The assistant. Each conversation, as text, with your account. When you talk to it, your speech goes to our speech provider while you talk. We do not keep the audio. A conversation never holds the people on your contact list.

  • How the site is used. Pages visited, approximate region, browser and device type. Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and remember work in progress. When you send us a form, we keep how you found the site. We don't use advertising trackers.

Your contact lists

We process your lists on your behalf and on your instructions: to produce your voicemails, deliver your campaigns and report the results to you. We do not sell contact lists, use them for our own marketing, or share them between clients. You are responsible for having the right to contact the people on your list. See Consent comes first and Who sees your list.

Your voices

Voices you clone are used only for your account's campaigns and never shared between clients. To delete one, the account owner or an Admin opens Voice library, opens the voice's menu and selects Remove voice. You can also ask us to delete it. See Voice cloning rules.

Who else handles it

  • Intuit (QuickBooks Payments) processes payments. You pay each invoice on Intuit's secure payment page. Your card or bank details go to Intuit directly, and we never receive or store your full card number. We keep the invoice records: the invoice number, the amount and the status.

  • Service providers run parts of the service: hosting, audio production, voicemail and text delivery, telephone numbers, the assistant's speech and answers, and email. They handle information only as needed to provide their service to us, under confidentiality obligations.

  • Some of these providers operate in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed there.

  • We share information when the law requires it, and it would move with the business if the business were ever sold or merged, under the same protections.

  • We do not sell personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

  • Account information: while your account is active.

  • Campaign material: as long as it is needed to run your campaigns and report on them accurately.

  • Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

  • When information is no longer needed, or you ask us to delete it, we remove it, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Ask to see, correct or delete your information

  1. Write to contact@thecallguy.ca.

  2. Say what you would like to see, correct or delete.

What you see

a reply from the team. You can also withdraw consent where our handling relies on it. Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, gives you these rights. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To delete a conversation with the assistant yourself, open its menu on Assistant and select Delete.

Change your sign-in email

Your sign-in email keys your campaigns and credits, so the team changes it for you. Email contact@thecallguy.ca from your current sign-in email with the new address. See Change your sign-in email.

Opt-outs for the people you contact

  • A person who texts STOP or ARRET to your campaign line is opted out of your account's texts and voicemails at once. A START text from them opts them back in.

  • Your team can opt a number out by hand: on Campaign line, open Calls and texts, then Opted-out numbers, then Opt a number out.

  • Opted-out numbers are left out of every campaign your account sends. They are kept per account, never shared with other businesses.

  • Someone on your list who would rather not hear from you is best served by telling you directly. They can also email us, and we pass the request along. See Got a voicemail from a business using The Call Guy?

Good to know

  • contact@thecallguy.ca is the one address for privacy questions.

  • When we change the policy, we post it with a new effective date. For a material change, we flag it to account holders by email or in the dashboard.
