How to choose a voicemail drop service in Canada
The kinds of voicemail drop service a Canadian business can choose from, how they price and what they leave to you, the questions to ask any of them, and where The Call Guy fits and where it doesn't.
Choose by what you need the campaign to do, not by the price of one message. A Canadian business sending to its own customers should look for three things first: Canadian rules built in (consent, calling hours, Canadian numbers), a message its customers will listen to, and a way to catch every callback and text that comes back.
The kinds of service
Services that send voicemail campaigns fall into four groups. The differences below come from the services' own published pages, read on November 3, 2026.

Questions to ask any service
Is the price per delivered voicemail, or per attempt? Ask what a voicemail that isn't delivered costs.
What currency, and what taxes? A price in cents is often in US dollars. Ask for the price in Canadian dollars with GST or HST.
Does it hold Canadian calling hours for me? The CRTC's hours are the recipient's local time: 9 AM to 9:30 PM on weekdays, 10 AM to 6 PM on weekends.
Does it send only to Canadian numbers, and set the rest aside?
How does it record consent? A recorded sales message needs express consent for that number. See Are voicemail drops legal in Canada?
Can each person hear their own details, in a voice they know? Ask to hear real takes from your own list before anything sends.
Where do callbacks and texts go? A campaign line matched to the campaign tells you which voicemail made the phone ring.
Does a person look at the campaign before it sends?
What happens to credits I don't use? Ask when they expire.
Where The Call Guy fits
The Call Guy is built for a Canadian business with its own customer list that wants its customers to hear a message made for them, in its own voice or its team's, and wants every callback and reply caught.
Canadian from the start. Canadian businesses and Canadian numbers only, CRTC calling hours, prices in Canadian dollars.
A message for each lead. Each person's own details spoken in the message, at the same price as one take for everyone.
Billed on delivery. A credit is spent only on a delivered voicemail, and credits last 12 months.
The campaign line. A local Canadian number for callbacks and texts, one follow-up text included with each delivered voicemail, and leads sent to your CRM.
A person reviews. The team reviews every campaign before release, unless you choose to sign for your own.
Where it doesn't fit
The lowest price for one recording to a very large list. A self-serve tool priced in cents a message costs less per message. The Call Guy prices a message for each lead, the review and the campaign line into every credit.
Recipients outside Canada. The Call Guy sends to Canadian numbers only.
A list you don't own. The Call Guy never finds, buys or builds a list, and doesn't run cold campaigns.
Live calling. A campaign is a recorded voicemail, approved in advance. Nobody is put on the phone.
