The Call Guy

Close your account

The account owner closes the account by email. What to do first, what happens to your credits and numbers, and how long your information is kept.

You can close your account at any time. The dashboard has no button for it: the account owner writes to the team, and a person closes it. Your terms say: "You can stop using the service or close your account at any time by emailing us."

Before you write to us

  1. Let your campaigns finish, or stop them. A campaign still in review can be withdrawn. See Change or cancel a campaign.

  2. Keep what you want. On Billing, Export CSV saves your credit activity, and on the Invoices tab it saves the list of invoices. Download the invoice and receipt PDFs you need. See Invoices and receipts. An Admin can also export Team activity.

  3. Release the campaign line numbers you no longer need. A number's monthly invoice keeps coming until it is released. See Release a number.

Ask for the account to be closed

  1. Email contact@thecallguy.ca from the account owner's email.

  2. Name the business and say you want its account closed. In a dealer group, say whether it is one store, several, or the whole group.

A person on the team handles it and writes back to you.

Your credits

  • Credits belong to the account they were bought for. Your terms say they can't be transferred or redeemed for cash, except where the law requires otherwise.

  • If credits are left on your balance, ask the team about them in the same email, before the account is closed.

  • If we end an account without cause, the terms say we'll work with you in good faith on any remaining credit balance.

Your campaign line numbers

  • You can release a number yourself at any time from Campaign line. The month already started is not refunded, and an invoice already issued stays payable.

  • Releasing cannot be undone: a released number can't be brought back.

Your information

  • When an account closes, its information is deleted 90 days later.

  • A campaign's contact list is deleted 12 months after the campaign closes, and its voicemail 24 months after it closes.

  • Billing records are kept as tax and accounting law requires.

  • You can ask us to delete information sooner, and we will, except where the law requires us to keep it.

The full policy is in Privacy, section 9.

Good to know

  • Want a pause instead? Nothing is charged while you don't send. Your credits wait for your next campaign, and the only monthly charge is a campaign line number, which stops once you release it. Credits last 12 months from the day you buy them. See No surprise bills.

  • Closing is the account owner's to ask for. A teammate who is leaving asks an Admin or the account owner to remove them on Team.
